Mission
Frè Yo's mission is to catalyze the careers of children of color, veterans, and historically marginalized citizens through exposure and sponsorship. As Frederick Douglass once said, "It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men." We believe in the power of mentorship to light the path for those who have been historically excluded, and to lift the most submerged segments of our communities onto higher ground. By leveraging our pools of talent and resources, we seek to create opportunities for those who have been overlooked and underrepresented. Whether you are a working mom rejoining the workforce, a veteran transitioning into a new industry, a returned citizen seeking education, or a rural black child navigating social codes that can block access to education, we provide a group of mentors to uplevel and upskill you through exposure and sharing the most valuable resource in the world: information.

Vision Statement
We envision a world where your zip code does not determine your destiny. We believe that businesses and schools should actively create unique pathways for people from different classes, geographies, genders, and physical abilities. We believe in diversity that goes beyond cosmetic representation. We want to see a future where everyone's voice is heard, where individuals from all walks of life are able to sit at boardrooms and school tables. We believe in a future where everyone's mother and father are not just doctors and lawyers, but also bus drivers and coal miners.
At Frè Yo, we are committed to building a community of conscience and compassion where mentorship is a powerful tool for creating a more equitable and just society. We are not consultants. We take no fees here. We do not seek to find diamonds in the rough only with a certain GPA or GRE score. Rather, we are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where our pools of talent and resources can be used to create opportunities for those who have been overlooked and underrepresented. By lighting the path for historically excluded mentees, we seek to catalyze their careers and create a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
